How To Find High Traffic and Low Competition Keywords
You want to start creating a website and make money online with Google. It is not guaranteed that you will be the next millionaire, however the methods you will find here can take you there, as a starting point of course.
The methods you will find here are not only ways to do keyword research. Not one keyword tool can give all the methods to generate high traffic to you website. You will need to buy Keword Discovery, Keyword Elite, SEO Elite, Affiliate Elite and Google Assassin. If you are serious about making money online, then you need to be serious about laying the foundations of your online business. This is the secret of many successful online business entrepreneurs out there. This is alongside mailing list building, copywriting for newsletters and sales pages and joint ventures.
Going back to keyword research, use free tools such as HitTail.com, Google Analytics and always watch your web stats. All this info can be very helpful in making that first million. Successful affiliate marketers us all of these and COULD NOT do with out them.
These tools have taken us far beyond what we ever could have done without them. Also you should be doing fairly well and know an understanding about seo before you go buy these tools and going into keyword research.
Why? It takes SEO to rank for the low competition phrases just as it takes SEO to rank for the high competition phrases. Just because one is easier than the other does not mean it doesn’t take SEO experience.
Keyword Elite - Step 1: Find High Traffic and Low Competition Keywrods
You will need a license of Keyword Elite to follow along the instructions below. Following is a screenshot of Keyword Elite’s Project #1: Click here for a larger screenshot of the image below.
1. Launch Keyword Elite and select Project #1 - “Create a keyword list”. Select Google, Yahoo and Keyword Discovery. You can can sign-up for Keyword Discovery trial. Choose free trial and check it out a little and see if you want to buy it, if not you have nothing into it.
2. Selected up to more than 9,000 results for this project. If you have a slow Internet connection, choose a low number such as 50-75 at a time. Otherwise, you will be waiting all day or if you insist, leave it overnight and sleep on it. Fast connection users do large lists, import them to txt pad or notepad. If you have fast connection, you can create content pages on your site targeted to each keyword that is generated.
3. Type in the main keyword you want to search, e.g. “affordable web hosting” and click on OK button. If you have selected Google as a source, enter the text when prompted. Depending on your Internet connection speed a list of keywords will start piling up quite fast.
Keyword Elite will list all the keywords it can find from the different sources you have selected. Always use Overture and Keyword Discovery. Overture’s keyword data is outdated but it does provide a really great list of keywords to start with.

The above is an extensive list of keywords found by Keyword Elite. You can scroll up and down the list. To select a keyword, click on it and it will be highlight in blue. Use CTRL+Click to select multiple keywords. To select ALL keywords, press CTRL-A.
4. Right-click on the selected keywords. Select ’send keyword(s) to project #2?. It looks something like this:
Click on ‘Send Keyword(s) To Project #2. Keyword Elite will open project menu and automatically fills in a the keywords you have selected. Keyword will also aslk you to save the previous project. Save it, of course, and give it a name.
5. Identify KEI using Keyword Elite’s Project #2.. For this step, make sure Google is checked. Select KEI and “Google Broad Match” and leave the rest unchecked. Enter 100 into the “Max CPC” (optional).

Click on OK. Keyword elite will bring up some useful data on these keywords. It provides you with the results, searches, R/S ratio, KEI and other data we selected above.
Whats really cool with Keyword Elite is that you can sort the data anytime and in any way by clicking on any of the list columns. You can sort by alphabetical, by lowest competing pages, highest searches, lowest R/S ratio or highest KEI. This is really cool!
What’s also nice is you can select keywords and copy into Notepad. You can do this by right-clicking on your selected keywords and select copy. Paste the selected keywords into you favorite Text Editor.
Like I mentioned earlier, Keyword Elite also has a SAVE feature which allows you to save you project and return to it later for future reference. One reason we prefer Keyword Elite to some other tools.
Here’s an explanation of the different results that Keywod Elite found
R/S Ratio: The ration of competing pages to number of searches for the keyword phrase. The lower the R/S ratio, the higher the likelihood of the phrase being great. Keep in mind that this data is not fool-proof and you must use manual work as well to determine whether or not it is a really great phrase. Keyword Elite eliminates the manual work of locating a list of phrases, now all you have to do is go through the list and find good ones to target. This has eliminated a HUGE amount of work for us.
Click the R/S Ratio column title to sort the keywords by the lowest R/S ratio. You can find potential keywords to target.

KEI: KEI column to gives an indication as to whether a keyword phrase is good or not. Unlike the R/S ratio, the higher the KEI, the better keyword it. This means that a keyword with over 5,000 KEI land an R/S Ratio of 5.0 may be a keyword worth looking into.
Searches and Results: Use these columns as guides and an idea of the figures you may be looking for.
With these data pulled buy Keyword Elite, we found very good keywords. You will find that some keywords are highly competitive. We chose highly competitive keyword phrase such as “affordable web hosting”. However, we found some high traffic and low competition keyword phrases:
“compare our affordable web hosting packages”
“affordable web hosting ecommerce net hosting”
“affordable web hosting high connection online”, etc.
We spend hours and hours researching keywords using Keyword Elite and then implement what it tells us. We already made tons of money from it, which is more than what we paid for Keyword Elite.
